I came out of year 12 pretty disheartened and worried as my grades were not at all at the level I wanted them to be. Especially for economics in which I had ended the year on a U, I thought I just needed more time to settle into the course but it had gotten to UCAS mocks and I was still on a D so I wasn't sure where to go or how to improve.

I quite enjoyed the content and was following the classes but I hated the exams and couldn't master the exam technique at all so I talked to my parents and ended up using Reynolds education just to see if having a tutor could help.

Being able to use high level examiners in order to have any questions marked properly was incredibly helpful and then talking over the papers and going into depth in regards to diagrams and high level content allowed me to not only master the exam technique but also excel myself past my previous level. The constant past paper practice under timed conditions and the examiner marking was incredibly useful for not only economics but also subjects like business as it helped to increase my writing speed and spot patterns in my work that I could repeat in further mocks and even the actual exams.

I ended my time at sixth form with economics being my favourite subject and I even won the top economics student award in my school whilst also coming out with an A in my final exams (something I never thought possible as my goal was just to get a C/B).

To summarise, Reynolds education is definitely worth it if you're struggling with economics and I recommend it for any student who either struggles with timing and exam technique or who simply wants to complete past papers consistently and have them marked at a high level with expert feedback.

Went from an Ds and Es in all my mocks throughout sixth form to an A in the real thing!!! Sam is so helpful, clear and patient when teaching. The lesson planning to ensure we keep going over the same important things in different ways until they stick to get the most marks in exams is great and really well thought out, and group lessons didn't feel intimidating whatsoever, I was so comfortable asking questions at any time. The examiners are also incredible and the turnaround is so quick, having full papers marked every single week for most of Year 13 really helped me with my exam technique and allowed me to get marks as high as 91% in Paper 1 (!!!!). Honestly could not recommend enough, best tutoring I've ever had and helped me get into my dream uni!!

Great Economics Tutor

Took Econ lessons for my A levels (AS) this year and I found the feedback on my Economics homework extremely useful, especially because it's hard to mark my own work. The explanations on where my responses went wrong, along with examples of strong answers were invaluable in helping me improve. I also really benefited from how we reviewed school tests together and reflected on how to do better. This approach genuinely contributed to my AS-level grade (U1: 92/100 UMS & U2: 100/100 UMS), and I'm so grateful for the support!

My son was tutored by Sam in group lessons in year 13 and this was instrumental in helping him achieve the required mark for his first choice University. The group lessons were interactive & engaging and cemented the core principles. The exam guidance and particularly the essay structure were really helpful. Sam really helped me with A-Level economics taking me from a B in year 12 to an A*. Sam is extremely helpful due to his in depth knowledge meaning he could go further into topics than in school and ensure my understanding is correct so that I can ensure my analysis and evaluation can achieve the highest grades. Also being in small group sessions is particularly helpful as I came across different arguements and ideas that I didn’t think of. Also Sam ensures that students engage is lots of practice papers and questions which is the only real metric of progress for A-Level. Most students won’t be able to get their worked marked and receive feedback by their school teachers and since the markers are also the actual examiners their feedback can really help you achieve the highest grades.

Sam is a great tutor in Economics

Sam is a great tutor in Economics. He is able to explain complex concepts in a straightforward way. Last year, I had difficulties with applied economic models, but with Sam's help, I quickly became familiar with the models and I significantly improved my grades.

We have known Sam for over 2 years now, he did an absolutely amazing job with both of my children who took economics for their A levels. I was very lucky to have found Sam when my son started economics in the lower 6th, but having done no economics previously found it hard going to start with. Sam not only got him up to speed with the subject very quickly, he made him look at many everyday things from the economics point of view and my son absolutely loved it. The same applied to my daughter who started her A level economics a year later. Sam offers past economics papers as homework and provides amazingly detailed feedback which is truly invaluable. It doubles up the exposure to economics writing and gives fantastic guidance within the subject. It is a huge comfort to me as a parent to know that we have Sam whenever my child needs support, explaining or a bit of guidance with the subject. I also love how easy it is to organise a tutoring session with Sam because of the range of online tools Sam uses to facilitate the process. I cannot thank Sam enough for all the help over the past few years!

B to A* in 2 months!

I had little help at school, and my grades were stuck at a B. Sam completely turned things around — he knows literally everything about economics and explains it with constant real-world examples that actually stick with you. He made the subject make sense for the first time. Thanks to him, I went from a B to an A*, and honestly, without his help there's no way I would've got the top grade. Can't recommend him enough.

Reynolds Education Experience

Before joining Sam's classes I struggled with applying my Economics knowledge to exam questions and achieving the grades I wanted. Sam is not only good at teaching economics, but he also knows how to write logical and passionate personal statements. Thanks to his quality tutorials every time, I know what Cambridge needs. He helped me with not only economics but also how to actually write a structured argument, which I don’t think was taught well in school. He also teaches in a way that allows you to understand the mechanics of the content in depth, so that you are able to do more than regurgitate memorised information.

I went from a C to an A* thanks to Sam

In my year 12 end of year econ exams I achieved a C grade and for the start of year 13 I was consistently getting Bs and Cs. I just wasn't able to break through to an A. I started online lessons with Sam just before Christmas. With his understanding and experience of the subject beyond the syllabus and more importantly his familiarity with the exam technique needed to answer each question, in just a few lessons I started scoring Bs and my first few As. Every week leading up to the exam Sam set homework tasks to revise, giving personalised feedback every time and tracking my progress making sure I understood everything thoroughly. I went from dreading econ lessons to genuinely enjoying them and on results day I was pleased to have achieved an A*. Great tutor, can't recommend him enough.
