    Sam is a Cambridge Economics Graduate and full-time professional tutor with over 3,000 hours of experience. Specialising in Economics and Mathematics, he has helped over 150 students achieve top grades and gain admission to prestigious universities.

    His approach is built on creating a foundation of content knowledge, ongoing testing via homework assignments, detailed Examiner feedback, transparent progress tracking, together with planned and focused revision. This gives every student the best chance to reach their full potential.

  • Hasan Noor - Economics Examiner

    Hasan is a seasoned Economics educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching A-level and GCSE Economics across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and IB. As the head of his Economics Department and a highly experienced examiner, Hasan has extensive experience of curriculum and assessment standards.

  • Timothy Walker - Maths Examiner

    Tim has over 30 years experience of teaching mathematics at some of the best schools in the country. He has taught all levels from GCSE to A level Further Maths.   • Yes. Every student gets their own reschedule link in their lesson emails. Use it up to 24 hours before the session and pick another slot. Group moves depend on space, and you are only offered weeks that still have a seat free, so it pays to move a session as soon as you know rather than the night before. Rescheduling inside 24 hours is not possible.

    • The links in our ‘Book Now’ section on our main website enable you access to book both groups and one-to-one sessions.

    • Pick any open slot that works best for you.

    • Pay securely by card and you’re locked in. Confirmation + Zoom link arrive with you instantly.

  • Our style of tuition works well for those who are committed to weekly tuition, complete all homework assignments by their respective deadlines, reflect on feedback and want to improve!

  • Absolutely. Many students add one-to-one alongside their group in the build up to exams, booked and paid for separately. We do ask that students stay with their group for the term they have booked, so the group stays consistent lesson to lesson. If the tuition itself turns out not to be right for you, that is what the First-Three Promise is for: tell us within the first three sessions and we refund every penny. Terms run about 14 weeks in autumn, 10 in spring and 8 in summer.

  • Essays & Papers completed for Homework are externally marked by an examiner and typically returned within 72 hours.

    Students and parents received an annotated PDF and feedback summary via email.

  • Yes. Sam is a Cambridge Economics Graduate, familiar with the common entrance exams (TSA, TMUA etc.), personal statement and interviews.

  • 75% of university applicants do not achieve their predicted grades according to a 2020 study. Final grades are typically lower, as teachers predict optimistically to avoid disadvantaging their students in the application process. So even if school are predicting top grades, it’s sensible to take predictions with caution.

    Nonetheless, even the best students can benefit from tuition. We aim to push marks well above the A* boundary and teach essay & study principles that can be used at university and beyond.

  • Yes, subject to availability we offer intensive one-to-one sessions, with some students taking up to 5 hours tuition per week in the build-up to exams.

  • Students typically improve between 1 and 3% on assignment scores per session - these are primarily based on past paper questions. A bump of 10% equates roughly to one grade boundary. As a result, an improvement around 1-2 grades is typical per 10 lessons (assuming assignments are completed).

  • Early in the academic year, an essay or series of multiple choice questions is typical ~ 1 hour of work. As exams approach, we will progressively move towards full Past Papers. The official time constraint on these is ~ 1.5 hours, though early attempts are expected to take longer.

  • Yes, though we would recommend one-to-one sessions on a case-by-case basis. Our notes are available 24/7 for students to work through at their own pace.

    Several current students with ADHD have moved up two grade boundaries since we began working together.

  • We cover micro and macroeconomics in both Year 12 and 13 - consistent with the design of the A Level course.

    A select number of schools prefer to tackle one or the other first in Year 12, though we are not keen on this approach as it requires students to revise content they might not have touched in over a year for Year 13 exams.

  • Yes. We’ll be starting from the basics! For those who are keen to get ahead, we recommend a summer reading list to those booked on for September.

  • Results are recorded within a Google Sheet for reference at any time to enabling progress tracking.

  • Yes. Though not our primary offering, Sam does take students for both A Level Maths and Further Maths - In practice both are often needed for university applications (especially Oxbridge Economics or courses such as Economics and Maths).
